Bristol

Bristol YES (Youth Education Service) offers Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths to external candidates.

Somerset

Taunton International School - Any board, any subject, eg CIE, Edexcel. Very helpful.

The Park School, Yeovil - very helpful.

Devon

The Small School**, Hartland (North Devon) - The school is registered with AQA, EDEXCEL, OCR, Cambridge International and WJEC, and is able to offer examinations at GCSE, iGCSE, and both AS and A2 at GCE. Exeter - The Maynard School. Very organised but want details by Sept prior to summer sittings and payment by December. AQA, OCR or Edexcel, no practicals. Coursework: 'The staff in school are unable to mark any work from private candidates, so you will need a tutor to mark and authenticate the work. Depending on which board you use the Board may be willing to mark it as long as a professional tutor has authenticated it.' (email from Exams Officer July 2015)

Queen Elizabeth Academy Crediton . A state run Academy. Known to allow external candidates for GCSEs as long as there is no coursework. Not known if they allow IGCSE candidates. Please contact them.

St John's, Sidmouth. Known to allow IGCSE external candidates. CIE and Edexcel. Recent communication (Jan 2017) 'To register a candidate I require an electronic copy of their passport and your full postal address.

I would require a £35 deposit paid to the Finance office, her email address is on the cc section of this email, prior to entries being made, this is refundable. Then there is a £15 admin fee for each subject entered in addition to the Cambridge exam entry fee. An invigilation fee is only charged for subjects which our candidates are not sitting, this is charged at £9 per hour.

The deadline for entries is 21/02/17 for the June 2017 session.'

South Molton - West Buckland School - Only charge for the paper (£36 per subject) AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC

The Spires College, Torquay. Admin fee £75 (one fee, valid for the year) plus exam costs. AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC - They accept external candidates for January exams as well as May/June.

Kings School, Ottery St Mary. Has indicated they will allow external candidates for GCSEs with coursework. £150 per subject IGCSE, £120 per subject GCSE. AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC

The Colours Academy in Ivybridge say they will have opportunities for home educated students to sit exams with them in future. Contact: enquiries@colours.academy

Cornwall

Dorset


Wareham - Purbeck School - Edexcel GCSE and IGCSE but not CIE. Contact Mark Taylor - MTaylor@purbeck.dorset.sch.uk. Costs about £50 per exam, including invigilation.

Wimborne , East Dorset - Queen Elizabeth School - Accept external candidates for some exams.

Weymouth College offers all major exam boards, exam-only subjects, will do on-screen tests. Admin fee of £80 for first subject, £50 for subsequent subjects.

Gloucestershire

Wycliffe College have had lots of home-educated external candidates for IGCSEs. Also do Americal SAT testing.

The King's School, Gloucester - independent school accepting external candidates.

Ribston Hall High School - grammar school, accepts externals.

Cirencester Deer Park School - have been very helpful to external candidates in 2016. Edexcel and AQA.
